Itinerary
Below you can find a day-to-day description of the Trail.

day 1
at 4.00am pickup from your hotel to go to the village of Mollepata, where starts the trail. The walk brings you to the campsite Soraypampa, close to the mountains Salkantay and Huamantay.

day 2
Soraypampa - Incaracay

climbing the slopes of Salkantay, reaching the pass at about 4800m, then down to the camp in Incaracay. Walking time about 8 hours.

day 3
Incaracay - Huayllabamba
you visit the archaeological site of Paucarcancha, arrive in Huayllabamba, where you camp to continue on to the incatrail next day.

day 4
Huayllabamba - Pacaymayu
the hardest part of the trail starts this morning when you walk from 3000m to the Warmiwañusca pass at 4200m. Then descend to the camp in Pacaymayu.

Total walking time 6-7 hours.

day 5
Pacaymayu- Wiñaywayna
Start of a beautiful day with visits of the archaeological sites of Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Conchamarca and Puyupatamarca before entering the complex of Wiñaywayna. If lucky, you have beautiful panoramic views of snow capped mountains in the area. Campsite near the ruins.

day 6
Wiñaywayna - Machu Picchu - Cuzco
An early start to the Sungate, to try to see the sun entering Machu Picchu. Guided visit of the most important parts of the ruins. If you like you can climb the Wayna Picchu mountain. Train back from Aguas Calientes to Cuzco.
